A new office means a new beginning. But before the doors open, every detail must be right. That includes signage. It has to be sharp. It has to be professional. It has to fit the new space.
This corporate client was relocating from San Diego to Carlsbad. Their previous signage had to go. The old tenant’s branding had to be removed. The building needed to be patched, painted, and prepped for a new look.
North Coast Signs handled it all.
Sign Removal Without a Trace
Signage removal isn’t as simple as taking down a logo. It leaves holes, discoloration, and surface damage. If done poorly, it leaves behind ghost images—faint outlines of old lettering or logos that still show even after repainting.
We made sure that didn’t happen. Our team carefully removed both the client’s previous signs and the old tenant’s branding. We patched every hole and painted over any wear marks. By the time we finished, the building looked like a blank slate—ready for the next chapter.
The Approval Process—Handled
New signage can’t go up without city approval. Carlsbad requires permits for exterior building signs, and waiting on approvals can delay a move.
Our team submitted the permit application and worked through the 30-day review process. Once approved, we moved straight into fabrication.
Precision Fabrication for a Perfect Fit
A sign isn’t just about branding. It’s about fit. It has to match the scale of the building, complement its design, and install seamlessly.
For this project, we fabricated a dimensional logo sign in ½-inch thick acrylic, painted in Pantone Blue 7687c. This wasn’t a simple decal. It was a bold, three-dimensional statement—cut with precision and finished with a durable paint coat to withstand Carlsbad’s coastal weather.
At 134 inches wide by 75.18 inches high, this wasn’t a small sign. It had to make an impact without overwhelming the façade. The final piece was flush stud-mounted for a clean, modern look.
Installation Challenges? No Problem.
Great signage isn’t just about design. It’s about execution.
The new sign had to be mounted above the front entrance. A standard lift wasn’t an option—the driveway was sloped, making it too far from the install point. The only solution was positioning the lift on a narrow walkway for direct access.
This was precision work. Our installers maneuvered the lift into place and carefully secured the sign, ensuring perfect alignment and a strong, lasting hold.
It was a challenge, but we got it done, and the result speaks for itself.
The Final Look? A Perfect Match.
When the installation was complete, the building had a whole new identity. The bold Pantone Blue logo stood out against the clean façade. The size, placement, and color balance were spot on.
The client was thrilled. Their brand had a new home, and their signage matched the quality of their business.
