North Coast Signs, Carlsbad, CA, recently completed a very challenging job for one of the new office buildings currently under construction. The goal was to add some pizzazz to two interior conference rooms by giving them frosted window graphics. This one-of-a-kind project entailed installing a 48-inch-tall band of Oracal 8510 Fine Silver Frosted vinyl on large glass walls.
The client wanted a continuous band across the glass surfaces, adding both privacy and an air of modern elegance to the conference rooms. Truly unique in this installation, however, is the intensive labor required to incorporate the company’s crosshatch logo into the design. These cut-out elements required precision to ensure the final result was clean, cohesive, and met the client’s branding needs.
Meeting the Challenge
One of the more challenging aspects was removing an existing frosted stripe from an installed glass for the front reception conference room. North Coast Signs worked closely with the contractor to meticulously remove the old material without damaging the glass or seamlessly continuing the new frosted vinyl installation.
From site surveys to measurement accuracy, every little detail was important in keeping the band constant throughout the panels. The project deadline became quite challenging due to the tiny details of the logo that needed a high level of attention while cutting out.
