Handicap signs and parking lot signs are important for safety and directing traffic near your business location. It’s important to have attractive and up-to-code signs to add to the professional appearance of your area.
Handicap signs are regulated by each state. For example in California, the regulatory shade of blue with white pictogram on reflective vinyl, sized 12″ x 18″ are commonly the choice to mark handicap parking spots.
Other signs are also regulated, and sizes are 6″ x 12″ or 18″ x 24″ depending on the sign needed.
Schools, churches, and all businesses need signs for their parking lots. One nearby church, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, located in Encinitas, California, called on us for their parking lot and handicap signs. They welcome all that would like to join or attend.
For this project we customized some parking lot signs for the various messages they requested. One image is the Visitor Welcoming Sign, 12″ x 18″ and says “Welcome to our Church.” The next sign is an Unauthorized Vehicle Sign, sized 24″ x 24″. The next sign is a Preschool Raffle Winner Parking Spot Sign. From Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm, the winner of the raffle gets that coveted parking spot!
The other signs are examples of other typical handicap and parking signs that measure 12″ x 24″ and 24″ x 24″.
These particular signs are made of 080 aluminum with type 1 reflective sheeting, mandatory with the California code. Additionally, the must have the standard federal radius corners with 3/8″ mounting holes.
The metal posts can be cut to various lengths. A standard length is 8′ galvanized 2-3/8″ round post. Other options are also available, and lengths can vary by location.
Landlords, business owners, property managers are responsible that their parking lot signs are up to code. Part of our process is to make sure we take care of the details, so your location will pass inspection.
