Office spaces are evolving. They’re no longer just four walls and desks—they’re reflections of a brand, an experience, a statement. But what about accessibility? At North Coast Signs, we believe that making a space accessible doesn’t mean sacrificing style. For our latest project in San Marcos, we partnered with a design firm to create custom ADA-compliant suite signs. These signs aren’t just functional; they’re part of the visual experience. Every detail was crafted to blend accessibility with aesthetics. Because why choose one when you can have both?
The ADA Standards, Our Style
ADA-compliant signs aren’t just about ticking boxes. They’re about making sure everyone feels welcome. For this project, we went all in with precision and care. Our signs feature raised tactile text, making them easy to read. Grade 2 Braille? Absolutely. It’s all about creating a space that doesn’t just look good but feels inclusive. The brushed aluminum look adds sophistication, while the black acrylic base brings a touch of elegance. These aren’t ordinary signs. They’re the perfect mix of form and function.
Brushed Metal, Bold Design
There’s something about brushed metal. It’s sleek, modern, and professional. For this San Marcos project, we used 1/16” non-glare brushed aluminum-look acrylic. It has that cool, polished finish that elevates any space. And when it’s laminated to 1/4″ black acrylic? Bold, powerful, eye-catching. These signs aren’t just ADA-compliant—they’re design statements. They say, “We’re here for everyone.” Every visitor, every client, every team member. That’s what accessibility looks like.
Suite Signs That Make a Statement
An office suite sign is more than a label on a door. It’s the first impression, the welcome. For this project, we crafted vertical suite signs that are 6” wide by 12” tall for most doors, with a unique 4.125” x 12” sign for smaller spaces. The vertical layout gives it a modern feel, breaking away from the usual. But these signs don’t just look great—they’re practical too. Four sturdy stand-offs keep them secure, with each 1/2″ barrel drilled to perfection. These signs are built to last. Built to be noticed.
Adding Personality with Tenant Signs
We didn’t stop at the suite numbers. For each tenant, we created horizontal tenant name signs, measuring 18” wide by 8” tall. Simple? Maybe. But simplicity, when done right, speaks volumes. These tenant signs aren’t flashy, but they’re bold. They carry the firm’s name with pride, with clean black vinyl graphics that pop against the glass. Mounted flush with four precise stand-offs, they add just the right amount of personality to each office. It’s subtle. It’s striking. It’s North Coast quality.
Precision Drilling, Perfect Fit
Installation isn’t just about getting the sign on the wall. It’s about making sure it feels like it belongs there. Every hole drilled, every standoff placed—it all has to be perfect. For this project, we drilled 7/16″ diameter holes to align with each 1/2″ stand-off, ensuring a flawless fit. And we didn’t just eyeball it. This is about precision. The glass panels, the vinyl graphics, the brushed metal—all perfectly aligned. Because at North Coast Signs, details aren’t just details. They’re everything.
ADA Signs that Blend In and Stand Out
ADA signs don’t have to look like an afterthought. They can blend seamlessly into an office’s design while still being bold and visible. For this San Marcos office, we created signs that do both. They’re compliant and accessible, yes. But they’re also part of the firm’s aesthetic. They blend in where they should and stand out where it counts. That’s what we do at North Coast Signs. We make accessibility beautiful, functional, and integral to the space.
